Selects value generators to be used to generate values for properties of entities.

This type is typically used by database providers (and other extensions). It is generally not used in application code.

Remarks

The service lifetime is Scoped. This means that each DbContext instance will use its own instance of this service. The implementation may depend on other services registered with any lifetime. The implementation does not need to be thread-safe.

Select(IProperty, ITypeBase)

Selects the appropriate value generator for a given property.

ValueGenerator Select(IProperty property, ITypeBase typeBase)

Parameters

property IProperty: The property to get the value generator for.
typeBase ITypeBase: The type that the value generator will be used for. When called on inherited properties on derived types, this type may be different from the declaring type for property
